On May 22, World Bank Vice President Mr. Hartwig Schafer and Deputy Mayor of Frankfurt Ms. Rosemarie Heilig will deliver opening remarks, followed by a discussion on Greening Germany’s Financial Sector facilitated by Mr. Tarek Al-Wazir, Minister of Economics, Energy, Transport and Regional Development for Hessen State.
On May 23, a Summit will be hosted with opening remarks by H.E. Svenja Schulze, Germany’s Federal Minister for Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, followed by high level sessions on the following topics:

In addition to these panels, Innovate4Climate is organising over 55 workshops on a number of topics, including financing climate resilience and adaptation, climate-friendly resource management in industry, scaling up green bonds, blockchain technology, emerging carbon markets and progress on Article 6, as well as sharing experiences from successful projects on the ground. Workshops will be led by more than 40 climate finance organisations and companies, including financial actors such as Rabobank, Commerzbank, SEB, and the European Investment Bank; governments such as Germany, Spain, Kenya and Chile; and organisations and associations such as the World Bank Group, KfW and IETA.
