Training farmers under MVIWATA on seed potato, ware potato production, post harvest handling and storage

The training was conducted at ARI-Uyole to MVIWATA farmers. MVIWATA is a farmers organization which unites small scale farmers inorder to have a common voice in defence economic, social, cultural and political interests of small scale farmers. it is the acronym for the National Network of small scale farmers groups in Tanzania (IMBALAGA in Rwanda).

The training involved 15 participants ( leaders and individual farmers). These farmers were from Mgeta village in Morogoro region and others were from Mtwango (Njombe region). They were trained on seed potato and wre potato production, post harvesting handling and storage. they training was done by research scientist under roots and tube Mr. Kalaye Kigwinya. Also participands had time to visit ARI-Uyole facilities used for seed potato production and storage.
