This document, delivered in the context of the SPIRIT project, is aimed at providing Kenyan policy-makers with recommendations to promote the adoption of innovations along the potato value chain through modifications in existing policies, regulations and standards.
The development of an adequate business and legal environment is a key factor for fostering the implementation of innovations along the potato value chain in Kenya.
Through the establishment of policies, policy-makers play a key role for fostering the adoption and even the generation of innovative technologies and practices by potato value chain actors. These policies, regulations and standards should be continuously subject to review to prevent them from blocking the adoption of the new technological advances.
